Welcome to TechNet

TechNet is an initiative of the technical staff of UNSW and is run by a volunteer committee through Staff Development.

We provide a means of communication for the Technical Community, facilitate resource sharing and seek to improve the profile and development of Technical Staff within UNSW.

Aims

• Development of a Technical Support Network at UNSW including :
  • A database of personnel/skills, equipment, resources and facilities,
  • Web based training
  • Initiate mentoring systems
• To identify and facilitate the development and on-going learning of technical staff at UNSW
• Improve the communication among the technical staff within and outside UNSW
• Raise the profile of technical expertise at UNSW
• Co-ordinate site visits (inter and intra Universities)
• Liaise with similar groups in other institutions and support the development of a national network of University technical staff.

News

If you work in a chemical or biological laboratory, and you would like maintenance scheduled for some part of it, then you will need to ensure that a "maintenance clearance certificate" is completed prior to the contractor beginning the work.
