Email Forum

The TechNet Email Forum is the prime communication tool of UNSW TechNet and allows UNSW staff to search for equipment, techniques and dispose of surplus equipment to other users. It allows you to tap into local sources of knowledge and communicate with people across the university.

With around 300 users the TechNet Forum has the potential to save you and your School money and time.


How do I use the TechNet Email Forum?

  1. To join the TechNet Email Forum, send an email to:
    majordomo@explode.unsw.edu.au with 'subscribe technet-forum' in the body of the message. This will get you onto the subscriber list and enable you to receive all emails directed at the forum. Please note: you must disable your email signature when subscribing.

  2. To send an email out to TechNet you must have subscribed to the email forum as in step 1. Then simply send an email message to: technet-forum@explode.unsw.edu.au with your request or enquiry. Any technical issue is acceptable as content with the only proviso that "chat" issues are limited to individual responses and not for general broadcast.

Material Safety Data Sheets

The Risk Management Unit advise that all chemicals distributed via the Email Forum need to be accompanied by a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). When you give or otherwise distribute any chemicals you are acting as a supplier. Please comply with this request and ensure that MSDSs are available.
